Boldon Junction

Size – 30ft x 10ft

The clubs previous large, Dc only '00' layout, first exhibited in 1988. The layout was rebuilt in sections several times before retiring in 2006 (for now!) with a new owner in Kent. In all its versions the layout was shown over a 100 times, from Scotland to Kent and most points in-between. Its fiddle yard lives on behind Coppell!                                                                   Boldon appeared in the March 1995 'Railway Modeller' and the December 2004 'Model Rail'. The layout has also been featured in  'Model Rail' DVD/Video no16 by Tele Rail, 'Modern Image Model Railway Layouts' Vol 2 by M.S.I.M and the 'ModelRail' DVD 'The Model Rail Experience 2009'

31 130 & 31 312 on a nuclear flask working. Both are detailed Lima models with working roof fans, these have now retired to Kent with the layout. We do still have the wagons though. In the background two kettles and a support coach head north to Carnforth.

Oberfriedhof

Size – 30ft x 10ft

The clubs large 'HO' Swiss layout, which has also now retired. Set in the Canton of Uri in the center of Switzerland, the layout was constructed with distinctive 45 degree baseboards. Oberfriedhof  attended almost as many shows as Boldon did, not quite though!
