       Model Engineering Section

       The Model Engineering section run a newly extended, elevated 3.5 and 5 inch gauge circuit of  track a quarter of a mile in length, including a workshop and  Furness Railway Gate Box which together provide facilities for brews and water. These are situated in Barrow's Public Park, not far from 'The PARK' Leisure Center.    Visitors are welcomed, as are visiting locos (with suitable certification). The park track usually runs Sundays from Easter to October, weather permitting, from 2pm until 4.30pm (approx)

      The Model Engineers also meet on Friday evenings at the park hut  (from 6.30pm until 8.30pm) and Thursday afternoons(1.30pm until 4.30pm) providing time to maintain members own and club locos - A Simplex (Furness), a 2-6-2 tank loco (Dudley.N.Wright) an 0-6-0 Class 08 shunter battery loco  (R. Reeves) and a petrol-mechanical (Paraffin Pete).
